8. Posted October 30, 2014. Having problems starting my focus when warm, it's fine when cold. It will always fire up from a bump start but not off the key. The engine will just turn over forever and not start, displaying 'engine systems fault' on my dash. I have had a diag test and it's not throwing any faults up.
It's a MK2.5 09 plate Focus estate. It seems to be pretty random as to when it occurs but when it does I get the Siren type alarm followed by the "engine malfunction" message and then the "reduced acceleration" message. To start with this was accompanied by the traction control amber light but recently has been showing the "check engine" light too.
Author. Posted August 26, 2012. I have replaced the earth lead on left hand side or engine from body to engine, and added new one on right side. All so put extra earth lead in from earth on battery on top of strut mount, and one direct from battery to engine, and one direct from battery to alt body, and new one from battery to gearbox.
